What makes a 3D-printed gift special?
FDM printing builds a figure layer by layer rather than moulding it in one piece. Complex forms and, in suitable designs, moving joints can be created directly during production. Fine visible layer lines are a characteristic of the process.
Rainbow and effect filaments can also create colour transitions that vary from figure to figure, meaning two dragons made from the same model may have slightly different colour patterns.
Which materials does ProtoPlot3D use?
We mainly use PLA and PLA+. For our toys, we select filaments with appropriate materials and testing documentation, including EN 71-3 evidence. Material selection, print settings and final checks all matter to us.
Swiss Made rather than anonymous mass manufacturing
Our figures are printed and inspected in Oetwil am See, Switzerland. We can see what our machines produce, develop new ideas and make small batches. We inspect the motion, joints, components, colours and general quality of the finished figures.

Are two Rainbow figures identical?
Not necessarily: gradient filament can produce different colour transitions on each figure.
